Location: Base of Mount Evans entrance located near Georgetown, CO

Echo Lake is the last stop before the entrance to access Mount Evans. It sits at 10,600 feet in the valley at the base of Goliath Peak. Whether you’re stopping here to fish, snowshoe, enjoy lunch, hike or bike, it has a lot to offer. This is a great place in close proximity to Denver to enjoy!

Hiking Options: We stopped here after enjoying the morning at Mount Evans with our dogs to do a quick walk around the Echo Lake Trail. It was our first time and we realized how much this beautiful place had to offer. On our next visit, we opted for a longer hike on the Chicago Lakes Trail. However, we brought our dogs and found it difficult on some of the narrow areas of the trail. We ended up turning around after a few miles. If you continue on the trail, you’ll reach the Chicago Lakes and Summit Lake. For more details, on this area and Mount Evans, visit my blog post.
