My Review: Living At Infinity LoHi
I’ve had a lot of people reach out to me about my time living at Infinity LoHi (2298 West 28th Avenue) in Denver, Colorado so I’ll give you the full breakdown. Hopefully, this will help guide you in signing (or not signing) on your next apartment lease because I know there are many google reviews leaving people confused.
When we lived there
We moved to Denver and lived in an Airbnb for one month before deciding to stay put and find an apartment. Luckily, our Airbnb was located in the heart of LoHi and we knew this was the area we wanted to call home. After touring several apartments, we signed a lease at Infinity LoHi from September 2018 through July 2020.
Which Unit We Leased
We rented the Bryant floorplan, a 1,084 square foot 1.5 bedroom/1 bathroom unit on the first floor facing the pool and boasting city views. We loved the view our unit offered because we watched the sunset every evening. Note there are two buildings that makeup Infinity LoHi—one with amenity space and one adjacent building.
The Good
Location: The location is within walking distance to all that Lower Highlands has to offer. You can easily walk downtown and access all the hot spots by foot meaning fewer ubers and less driving—which is a major win for me. Several people are concerned about the location being close to the interstate, hotel, and homeless problem. To be honest, homeless people are a major problem in Denver altogether. There are significantly fewer homeless people in the LoHi neighborhood compared to RiNo or downtown but they still exist. I’ve never encountered any homeless surrounding our building but I think that’s an understanding you must consider when moving to Denver. Occasionally there were parking garage break-ins.
Value: LoHi is a highly desirable neighborhood and comes at a price. If you’re looking to move there and compare Infinity LoHi to other apartment complexes chances are it’ll come in at a lower price point. There has been a lot of new development and Infinity LoHi is slightly older therefore it’s more affordable. For the location, finishes, and amenities it’ll probably be the best value you’ll find when shopping the area for apartments.
Tall ceilings: I’m not sure if every unit has tall ceilings but ours were extremely tall which made our space feel airy, bright, and large.
Views: The views from the pool deck are some of the best Denver skyline views you can get! It’s an awesome place to entertain, enjoy a cocktail, and layout.
The Bad
Security: The entire building is secured with passcodes or key fob entry. However, if someone props the door open with a rock then it’s open for anyone to enter. We noticed some “sketchy” neighbors that had moved in that allowed a lot of random people to enter the building. There’s not much you can do and this can occur anywhere but something to consider.
Staff: The staff makes all the difference when living in an apartment. I’m not sure how it is now but this affected how our experience was more than anything.
Older: As I mentioned, the building is older compared to other new complexes such as Modera—however, the price quickly reflects that. For example, the amenity furniture is worn down including the pool lounge chairs.
Amenity Closures: It was a frequent occurrence for someone to break glass at the pool or hot tub resulting in closures for at least 24 hours while it was drained and cleaned. This was extremely frustrating because it was usually drunk people at the hot tub late.
Things to Consider
Interstate/Car Pollution: Our unit faced the Interstate which resulted in A LOT of car pollution covering our balcony and windows. We couldn’t open our windows and just have screens because so much brake dust would cover everything. We constantly had to clean our outdoor area. And it was a significant amount!
Noise: Each unit varies in the noise you’ll hear from the amenity space and neighbors. We found that the pool and hot tub were extremely loud when we lived next to it. On the weekends, it was filled with blaring music and late nights with rowdy groups. The main building goes inward and traps sound between the two buildings. Be sure to consider this when choosing a unit.
