Lip Filler Update

I’ve been getting lip fillers since May 2019, so I thought it was time for a quick update from my initial detailed blog post covering my lip filler details. Be sure to check it out for the whole experience.

For my first treatment, I had 0.8 mL of Juvederm Vollure injected. We saved the other 0.2 mL for my 2 week follow up appointment to see if I needed any touchups or decide where I’d like more. For reference, 1 mL is also referred to as a full syringe. I am SO glad I went with Juvederm Vollure for the first time. It provided the perfect outline and definition to start my lip filler journey. I think the first time you go, it’s essential to choose a provider who knows and provides a variety of fillers.

*Attention Denver and Boulder girls: Mention I sent you to The Luxe Room and you’ll receive $50 off your first time.

On my two week follow up appointment, I used the leftover 0.2 mL of Juvederm Vollure and added an additional 0.5 mL (half syringe) of Juvederm Volbella. I wanted more volume in my upper lip. My provider recommended using a different type of filler for that volume and also how it would react with the previous one.

You can read in detail about my initial lip filler experience and why I chose each type in my full blog post.

I have now maintained my natural lip appearance without having to get it dissolved, which I’m so thankful for. I credit this to 1) not overdoing it, 2) keeping my lips hydrated, and 3) choosing a quality provider who knows what they’re doing. Below is a timeline of what lip filler I have gotten over the past 4 years.

  • April & May 2019: Juvederm Vollure (1 mL) and Volbella (0.5 mL)

  • October 2019: I forgot to record what type & how much used

  • January 2021: Restylane-L (0.5 mL)

  • June 2021: I don’t have the exact kind on my record (1 mL)

  • February 2022: Restylane Kysse (1 mL)
